Lunch with League Presented by LWV of Central Orange County. Topic: "Water Issues in Orange County"

Speaker: Roy Herndon, Chief Hydrologist, Orange County Water District

Water is always a concern here in Southern California. Where does our water come from and can we be sure there will always be a good supply? How has the recent rainfall affected drought conditions?

Get answers to these questions and more from someone who deals with our water supply on a daily basis. You may be surprised at some of the answers. Mr. Herndon is the Chief Hydrogeologist at the Orange County Water District, which manages the 300-square mile Orange County Groundwater Basin. He directs the activities of OCWD's Hydrogeology Department, including numerical groundwater flow modeling, performance evaluation and improvement of two seawater intrusion barriers, and basin-wide and local-scale groundwater level and quality monitoring programs and investigations.

Open to everyone. Visitors welcome! Cost: $15
